There is something profoundly magical about capturing a home while it’s alive with the laughter and energy of the people who love it. Recently, a very dear friend of mine celebrated a milestone birthday and asked me to immortalize her family’s beloved sanctuary in watercolors - the enchanting Villa Encantada.
Her vision was deeply touching: she wanted a piece to look back on one day, long after the house had changed and the kids were fully grown, to reflect on the warmth and joy of the happy times they shared together within those walls. Whenever I visit the villa, I can feel that exact spirit, and my primary objective was to translate that palpable joy onto paper. To achieve this, I leaned into a lighthearted, broad-strokes illustrative style, splashing the composition with vibrant, expressive colors. She loves it, and so do I!

Capturing Furry Friends
In addition to large-scale home portraits, I’ve recently had the pleasure of creating intimate cat portraits - including the below sleepy, sun-drenched moment.
Just like with architectural spaces, or portraits, my approach to painting animals focuses entirely on capturing their unique spirit, mood, and personality rather than just a technical likeness. Over the years I’ve created custom works in acrylic mixed media and watercolors for others, and it brings me so much joy to be able to bring happiness through these works into others' lives.
